Description

Type 1 resin bonded aluminum oxide reinforced snagging wheels are engineered for the toughest foundry and primary metal grinding operations. Designed with high-strength fiberglass reinforcement, these wheels provide additional safety under the extreme stresses of swing frame grinding while delivering efficient, fast-cutting performance. The durable aluminum oxide grain offers aggressive stock removal on ferrous metals, while the resin bond ensures reliable wheel life under heavy loads. Ideal for cleaning, deburring, and shaping large castings, these reinforced wheels combine productivity and operator confidence in demanding industrial settings.

Application

Application

1

Snagging gates, risers, and parting lines from large ferrous castings.

2

Surface conditioning of steel ingots and billets in primary metal operations.

3

Cleaning and shaping of heavy cast iron components before machining or finishing.

Recommendations

Operate only on properly guarded swing frame or floor stand machines designed for reinforced wheels.
Always check wheel integrity before mounting; do not use wheels with cracks or damage.
Mount with appropriate flanges and blotters to distribute pressure evenly.
Ensure workpieces are securely clamped to prevent vibration and uncontrolled movement.
Never exceed the wheel’s maximum operating speed (RPM) as marked on the wheel and avoid side grinding.
