Discover Tyrolit’s extensive range of core drilling products, designed to meet the most demanding requirements. Whether you’re looking for wet-drilling bits, dry-drilling bits, tile drill bits or accessories, you can benefit from the advantages of top-quality tools for professional core drilling.
Tyrolit is one of the world’s leading system providers for core drilling and offers you a wide range of diamond core bits for almost any construction task. Whether you are working with reinforced concrete, masonry, sand-lime brick or ceramic tiles: our core drilling range covers diameters from 10 mm to 1.5 metres and is divided into three categories. Wet-drilling bits are particularly suitable for concrete and reinforced concrete; dry-drilling bits are ideal for installation work where there is no water supply; and tile drill bits produce chip-free drill holes in ceramic, porcelain stoneware and marble. Electricians, plumbing and heating engineers, ventilation engineers, as well as demolition and renovation professionals all rely on our tools. All drill bits are fitted with diamond grit and designed for professional use on construction sites. On the following sub-pages, you will find the right range for your specific application: wet drill bits, dry drill bits and tile drilling.
In wet drilling, water cools the diamond core bit during the drilling process. This ensures a longer service life and is the preferred method for core drilling in concrete and reinforced concrete. In dry drilling, there is no need for a water supply: the core bit is cooled via an integrated dust extraction system, which is particularly practical for electrical and installation work indoors, where water is undesirable. Dry drill bits are suitable for lightly to moderately reinforced concrete and masonry. Which method is the right one depends on the material, the drill diameter and the on-site conditions – both systems deliver reliable results with Tyrolit TGD® technology.
The majority of our core drilling range consists of core bits for concrete, reinforced concrete and steel-reinforced concrete. They are designed to cope with the high abrasiveness and reinforcement found in these building materials and are available in both wet and dry versions. For ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware and marble, we offer our own tile drill bits with vacuum-brazed diamond segments, which guarantee chip-free drill holes. In addition, we stock core bits for masonry, sand-lime brick and refractory materials such as fireclay bricks, as well as for special applications such as asphalt. The predominant material determines whether you should opt for a wet or dry drill bit or a tile drill bit.
For core drilling, Tyrolit offers core bits ranging from 10 mm to 1.5 metres in diameter – to be used with a drill motor and drill stand or as hand-held tools, depending on the application. Tile drill bits cover the range from Ø 5 mm to 75 mm: smaller diameters are suitable for electrical and installation sockets, whilst larger ones are suitable for shower fittings or feed-throughs. Our XL tile drilling set combines HEX wet drill bits from Ø 5 to 14 mm with M14 dry drill bits from Ø 20 to 75 mm in a single set, thereby covering the entire range for angle grinders and drills. You can find the suitable drill motor or drill stand for larger diameters in our range of machines.
TGD® stands for an intelligent distribution of diamonds within the drill bit, developed by Tyrolit. This uniform arrangement ensures optimum cooling, constant load distribution and, as a result, a significantly longer service life compared with conventional drill bits. The tool lasts longer, and the drill motor is subjected to less strain. TGD® technology is used in both our wet core bits and selected dry core bits, ensuring consistently high cutting performance when core drilling in concrete and reinforced concrete.
A particular highlight is the WDT and DDT Tile Drilling Set XL: It combines HEX wet drill bits (Ø 5–14 mm) and M14 dry drill bits (Ø 20–75 mm) in a single set and works with both a drill and an angle grinder. This means you’re equipped for practically any tile drilling job without having to buy several individual products. For larger core drilling in concrete, the CDL-C2 wet core bit featuring TGD® technology and a segment height of 11.3 mm for universal use.
Tyrolit has been in business since 1919 and is one of the world’s leading system providers for core drilling. As a manufacturer with our own diamond technology, such as TGD®, we develop core drill bits that are precisely tailored to the respective drill motors and drill stands – for noticeably greater cost-effectiveness in day-to-day use. With over 500 patents and a high level of application expertise, we can also advise you on specialised applications and provide bespoke solutions on request.
